I have been hearing through friends, that McDonald’s cooks their french fries in beef oils, is this true? If it is, then why is it not made aware in the Muslim community? Is there any way to find out once and for all if this is fact or fiction? Many thanks in advance for your efforts. N. S., Canada.

In Canada, McDonald’s fries are cooked in a mixture of cottonseed oil and beef fat. The fries themselves also contain a blend of partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil and beef fat. McDonald’s Canada has never hidden this fact. It has always been listed in their “McDonald’s Food Facts” brochure.
