RECOMMENDATION: If you don't mind being locked into a cell phone contract, then go with Fido if you want the iPod and don't mind less rural coverage or go with Rogers if you want better national coverage. Think about getting stuck with a contract. Do you really want to pay $30-$40 a month (with all the taxes and feed) for a cell phone? Do you really need all those free minutes? Be honest, because you can save a heck of a lot of money by going with Virgin Mobile and using your phone when you need it, and pay only when you use it. As a light cell phone user (what's so good about allowing people to track you down and bother you all the time?), if I wasn't already with Telus, I would pick Virgin over all the others, anyday.
